FrieslandCampina
FrieslandCampina in Lochem produces butter, milk powder and clarified butter. Production stops in these enormous installations cost a lot of money. ‘That’s why our Technical Service department is entirely focused on the prevention of faults. We have to ensure that the company operates at the lowest possible cost. Van Lente Systeemintegratie fits in well with that philosophy’, says Henk Broeke, head of the Technical Service department at Friesland Campina.
Van Lente Systeemintegratie and FrieslandCampina have worked closely together over the last few years during the implementation of, among other things, the powder transport, silo storage, powder tower, evaporator, cleaning station, butter packaging line and two pasteurisation lines.
Over the last few years, Van Lente has been increasingly involved in the construction of a new silo building and a cleaning station (RMO). They engineered the hardware and building-related installations, including the process-related installation. When testing and fine-tuning, you realise that it’s important to have knowledge of the process installation, to increase speed and efficiency. ‘We are also using Van Lente’s knowledge of legislation, regulations and safety, among other things. Requirements are increasingly being tightened more and more, for example in the hygiene sector. We provide the guidelines and Van Lente implements them perfectly.
It’s great that Van Lente has more than 80 years of experience in the dairy sector. They know what they’re talking about and they speak our language. There’s no need for explanations.’
Broeke has been working with Van Lente Systeemintegratie for so long, he considers the employees colleagues. ‘They are the extension of our organisation. The Technical Service department’s focus lies in maintenance. Projects and support for electrotechnical activities are deliberately outsourced. Van Lente has in-house specialists for this, who carry out their work with the utmost accuracy and know-how. They definitely realise that the consequences of one incorrect decision can be major. This high level of involvement is essential here. It’s partly this attitude that has meant we’ve been working together for dozens of years.’
